I fell in love with this show when it first came out. I think the obvious attraction was the Asian aspect, and I LOVE comedy shows, I was pretty into “Fresh Off the Boat” as well and as my followers already know “PEN15”, but I didn’t truly know who Awkwafina was until this show opened my eyes (that wasn’t trying to be an Asian joke) and I just wanted to consume everything she made after that!

Not only did I fall in love with the show from the second it started, but it took me a couple episodes to realize that one of the director’s worked on Comedy Central; “Broad City” which is absolutely fantastic and made even more sense as to why I loved “Awkwafina is Nora From Queens” so much!

This woman can do anything.. Awkwafina is already a huge star at such a young age and I cannot wait to see where her career goes! It’s such an exciting time! She’s made me laugh harder than I have since I was a kid or young teenager! I love how brave and fearless in everything she does, but especially her comedy! She’s a brilliant writer with one of the most creative minds, creating this show and being an executive producer on it, this is really who she is and I love her for it! It’s so inspiring!

Lori Tan Chinn as ’Nora’s grandma is one of my favorite parts of the show! She’s such an iconic part and is the fun, crazy, wild grandma I wish I had! BD Wong as the dad and Bowen Yang as ‘Edmond’ are wonderful! Her whole family is so well cast and the chemistry they all have with Awkwafina is pitch perfect!

This show is so relatable in the most hilarious, painful and human ways imaginable! They hit me hard when I least expect it and next I find myself gasping for breath from laughing so hard! It’s a magical show! The antics ‘Nora’ gets herself into, the problems she deals with, no matter how ridiculous, she makes it incredibly relatable.

It’s so exciting getting to see where Awkwafina’s career is going! From “The Farewell” (2019), “Crazy Rich Asians” (2018), “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” (2017), “Oceans 8” (2018), “Raya and the Last Dragon” (2021) and now “Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” (2021). I can’t even believe it. From making a Marvel joke in the pilot episode to now starring in the next Marvel blockbuster film… Quite the journey. Check out this hilarious, touching, and brilliant show! Season 2 is airing now and it's WONDERFUL!

Oh and this is also the first time I ever saw 'Shang-Chi' aka Simu Liu in anything! He's got a small part in one episode.
