Barry Jenkins is the director of "Moonlight" 2016 which won the Oscar for Best Picture and Best Adapted Screenplay, "If Beale Street Could Talk" 2018, "The Underground Railroad" 2021, and the upcoming "The Lion King" Prequel just announced.
Barry Jenkins became the fourth Black person to be nominated for Best Director and the second Black person to direct a Best Picture winner with "Moonlight" (2016). He has gone on to achieve more nominations for "If Beale Street Could Talk" (2018).
