Florence Pugh in "Fighting for My Family" (2019)

My fiance, Rachel, showed me this little gem. She's been on a Florence Pugh binge and she really wanted to show me (and her dad) this one which we both ended up truly loving.

Neither of us know anything about wrestling, but were fans of a lot the actors in the film and the fact that Stephen Merchant was directing really peaked my interest. Merchant has proven in my book to be one of the funniest human beings, but is also a terrific actor. He was a producer on both of "The Office" TV shows, but recently starred in "Logan" (2017) and "JoJo Rabbit" (2019).

Jack Lowden & Florence Pugh in "Fighting for My Family" (2019)

Nick Frost will always make me smile! He did such a sweet and amazing job! Lena Headey too! Such a cute pair of parents!

Jack Lowden did a wonderful job! Wasn't super familiar with his past work, need to rewatch "Dunkirk" (2017), but he really stood out in this film for me. His journey was beautiful to watch unfold. The relationship and chemistry with 'sister' Florence Pugh was tragically magical in all the best ways possible.

Pugh was magnificent. Certainly my favorite thing I've seen her in so far. She really is gem of talent that's only going to get better.

Vince Vaughn was pretty fun in this too, had some fun cameos. A funny, touching and inspiring story. Rachel also told me this was based on a true story, which just added to the interest factor for me. Pretty outstanding and beautiful story of this family's journey and finding your place in the world.

"Fighting with My Family is a fun and surprising emotional story about a quirky, ambitious clan. Wrestling fans may be most drawn to it, but it still has a lot to offer even if you've never watched a match in your life." - Alex Bentley, CultureMap

"It is a universal story about outcasts who create community through sport and heart combined with the kind of "soap opera in spandex" storytelling that has made wrestling so popular." - Richard Crouse, Richard Crouse

"It is thanks to Merchant that the film achieves what it sets out to do ... His characters, though based on real people, pop off the screen and take on a life of their own. They may just make a wrestling fan out of you by the end of it." - Candice McMillan, KOMO News (Seattle)

"Fighting With My Family has classic British humour and a familiar grittiness to it, reminding me why I adore British cinema so much." - Lucy Buglass, Lucy Goes to Hollywood

"Even if you've never seen wrestling, you will relate with this story about family love, identity, and the chase of seemingly impossible dreams." - Ricardo Gallegos, Pólvora
