If you’re a fan of the following you might like this film: Disney, Pixar, Animation, Dungeons & Dragons, Fantasy, Adventure, Fan of the actors (listed below), family story, dealing with grief (which to me is rare to find in a kid’s film)
This film hit me in all the right places. It's a beautiful journey of healing, adventure and self identity. Check out "Onward" (2020) by Disney's Pixar starring Tom Holland, Chris Pratt and Julia-Louise Dreyfus. Available on Disney+ now (or to buy/rent digitally as well).
Just like Kevin Smith (below video) it made me miss my late parent (in this case my mom..) appreciate family.. being okay with the past.. It’s a beautiful story. I bawled my eyes out but it’s worth it. Trailer doesn’t do it justice.
Avoid the Kevin Smith video below if you HAVEN’T seen Onward yet. If you didn’t know, Kevin Smith’s father died in 2003. He talks about it in great detail in his book “Tough Shit” and how "Onward" (2020) affected him and his grief.
