“Simple Simon” aka “I rymden finns inga känslor” (2010) directed by Andreas Öhman
"A younger brother with Aspergers syndrome helps his older brother find a girlfriend."
You might like this if you like: romantic comedies, Bill Skarsgård (Pennywise in “It” 2019, “Hemlock Grove”), Aspergers (portrayed beautifully by Bill Skarsgård), Martin Wallström (who I love as Tyrell Wellick on “Mr. Robot”), indie comedies, beautiful and honest movie about love and seeing things from a different perspective
This is one of my favorite romantic comedies but soars above most within its genre.. I’m so grateful my SBCC professor, Ed Kaplan, showed this film to me in his class. I fell in love with it. The characters, the acting, the pacing and the writing, the fairy tale-like yet beautifully, honest story of a young boy with Aspergers syndrome trying to understand love and attraction and how it works.
Martin Wallstrom (top) & Bill Skarsgard (bottom) in "Simple Simon" (2010)
The film lifted my heart and brought so many laughs and smiles. It’s an inspiring, raw, and clever film that I haven’t found anyone whose seen it outside of my film class. I had a hard time finding this film again after my film professor let me borrow his festival copy (screened at SBIFF In 2011). I was pleasantly surprised to find it on YouTube and share with you all here. One of the most beautiful films I’ve ever seen. Sweet and touching movie to watch with your loved ones. Maybe not with little kids (not a Hard R at all, I honestly couldn’t find an official rating for this movie lol but I’d say PG13).
One of my favorite movies of all time. Hope you guys enjoy! And please if someone finds a better source for this movie other than YouTube, maybe in HD, please comment below for people.
