I had initially heard about this awesome film from the lovely stunt-woman / actor; Carrie Anne Bernans, who did stunts on this film and of whom I had the pleasure of getting to interview briefly before this even came out.

I was so excited as I’m a huge fan of westerns and the entire cast was just jaw-dropping looked like a whole lot of fun.

Having watched this after ‘Loki’, I was thrilled to see Jonathan Majors again in a really big and badass role. Idris Elba, LaKeith Stanfield and Regina King were all fabulous as I expected them to be and were just so fun to see in the western skin as the original cowboys.

My favorite character by far, and was an unexpected love, was Cuffee played by Danielle Deadwyler, who I don’t think I had seen in anything before, but she was a standout for sure. Her character was just great to start with too.

Jeymes Samuel did such a terrific job, I loved every second of this movie, there some times where I felt the music may have taken over a bit too much, looked beautiful, I think the cast and crew and making of it meant more to me in the end, but nonetheless felt like a western that we needed and hopefully inspires more like it. Samuel really does throw his cowboy hat into the ring of the Western genre and proves himself damn, damn well.
